SilveradoLAX7 Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Just ran across an article in the automotive news that cited "sources close to the automaker". Apparently on the heals of the success they've had with the H3, they will make a H4 to compete with the Wrangler (perhaps as soon as 2010). Also interesting is the possibility of an H3 pickup as soon as 2009. here's the link to the article (I basically just paraphrased from) Link -Jay H4 concept photo http://www.autoblog.com/2006/02/28/hummer-...k-in-the-works/ H3 SUT Pic http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/09/new-hum...coming-in-2009/ (edit: opps, forgot the v in Unveil in the subject heading)
99silveradoz71 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I'd like to see a pickup with Hummer styling.
SilveradoLAX7 Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 I'd like to see a pickup with Hummer styling. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm kinda torn about Hummer styling. Sometimes I see some that I like, othertimes it looks like someone glued every accessory from the local shop wherever they would fit (and many places they didn't). With all the running lights and oversized tires(H3 especially) its a little over the top. -Jay

I'd LOVE to see an H3 pickup with the 5.3 in it.
chakis24 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 some of the comments on that page are ridiculous. but anyway, i like the idea, lets hope that they just doit right. but what platform would the 4 use?
Mattt Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I think the Hummer name is quickly becoming a joke! Ever since GM took over, they are working the Hummer image over, and it will be a shell of it's former self. How can you even consider discontinuing the original H1, THE REAL HUMMER? All of these "jokes" of a Hummer since the H1 are just an insult to the the H1, and GM seems bound and determined to continue this trend. I have wheeled Lake Tahoe area in an H1, and it is a beast that does what you need it to do. Ive never been in an H2 or H3, but they are certainly not the purpose built machine the H1 is. Has everyone seen the video on the net of the H2 doing some Basic rock crawling and snapping the front end like a toothpick?

It does suck they discontinued the H1.

GM is still selling the H1, but they are not producing them any longer. The last H1s are Duramax/Allison combos. They may continue to sell em until they are gone. GM haulted production because of changing emissions laws.
