Man these stock speakers really suck....

I have had my 07 Silverado Classic for 3 weeks and the front two already sound like they are blown. No I did not have the bass turned all the way up I left it in the center. This s**t bites... Maybe I should call the dealer and demand a new set. After all the truck is under a BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty and the last time I checked the speakers was between the bumpers.... LOL

Have you ever seen the OEM speakers? LOL Replaced mine with Kenwood Excelon which are reasonably priced and a huge improvement over the factory crap. Just take a look at the difference.

haha yep the stock ones suck. Replaced mine after 6.5 yrs I went with some pioneer 4 ways. They sound so much crisper

Since I already have seperate tweeters I was thinking about just buying some componet speakers. Like this...

I've got a set of those Type-R Alpine speakers in my truck, and they are a huge improvement over stock. I put them in about 2 years ago. The hardes part is trying to find a place to mount the crossovers.

Thanks for the feedback on them.. So where did you mount the crossovers? Also do you still have the stock head unit? I will change mine but really need speakers NOW...
