90 gmc 1500 engine swap

My engine blew in my truck, got a 350 w/tranny from a 92 suburban that was run on propane, I am using all my original parts, alternator, fuel injectors, ignition module, cap and rotor etc. I am adding headers to it as well. Do I need to change the computer, I don't have the 350 one, can my spark plugs be swapped? Is there anything else I need to do. Will the injectors cause problems?

 

My truck was a 90 gmc 1500, 305 2wd

The chip for a 350 is different but the ECM is the same for a 305 and 350. The 350 injectors are also bigger for the 350.

 

Look for a chip out of 90 truck with a 350.

So will it run with the 305 chip until I find one for a 350? The injectors, will that only affect my power? I have to make a 3000 km trip soon, would it be bad to do this with the wrong chip and injectors?

I'd just use all your parts, including spark plugs and the computer. Externally those two motors are the same. Only real difference is internal displacement. Your O2 sensors should force the computer to compensate for the extra needed fuel.

So my computer will compensate enough for the small injectors? Not worried to much for power, just don't want to hurt the engine or affect my mpg.

 

 

 

 

Also is there any cheap mods add ons I should do for this big trip that will pay for themselves, IE air intake or etc, or does it take a long while for mods to show return on mpg or are any really worth it when it comes to gas savings?
