Burning Oil...Continued

I recently changed my oil with Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30. I had an oil burning problem but I changed my PCV valve to a fixed orifice style and used 10w-30 oil which both helped for a while a trip. Last weekend I drove from Atlanta to Tampa, 480 miles each way. Today I had to drive back down and about halfway back to Atlanta I checked the oil and there was almost no oil on the dipstick. I added a quart I had with me and it brought it back up to 3 out of 5 holes. Any other things I can try to stop this oil consumption?

Are you sure it's consumption? Take a look underneath. Maybe you have a leak??

if it is burning oil that bad you should smell it. Are you getting any strong whiffs of odor or any other indications that it is burning?

If you don't smell anything and don't see any smoke, then it's gotta be leaking out. Perhaps it's leaking only under pressure, in which case you wouldn't see it leak unless you got out while it was running and looked around.
