Type of Brake System?

Can anyone help me?

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 4wd ext cab that I plan on doing the brakes on. I went to order the parts online and it seems there are two types, Vacuum Boost or Hydro Boost. Can anyone tell me how to tell which system I have?

I believe the 1/2 tons (1500) use the vaccuum. I know the heavy duty trucks (2500HD) use the hydro. Look at the booster. If there is a big can with a line to the intake it is vaccuum. If there are lines to the powersteering pump it is hydro.

The 1500s in certain years could be equipped either with Hydro boost or vac boost. The earlier answer will tell you how to tell the difference.
