2006 brakes...normal?

My truck has "wobbled" when coming to a stop since the day I bought it new. But now, at 11,000 miles it's getting worse. And also, it is starting to pull to the left just a tad while braking. Like, if I take my hands off the wheel while braking the truck will steer left.

 

Is this common on these trucks too? Is it the rotors or the drums that are the problem? It's going back to the dealer again next week but I'd like to know what's going on before I talk to them.

It is almost certain that rotors are causing this. It is a common problem in general but not specific to GM Trucks. I cannot say I have heard of one doing this from day one but it is common to see it after a few thousand miles. I would think that they would be more than willing to replace your rotors and pads if it has been doing this from the time it was new and you have this documented with them.

 

It is hard to say why one vehicle will do it and the next one want. I am driving my 5th Dodge Caravan as work vehicles, have put over 130K on all 5 and 175k on 2 of them and have never replaced a rotor on any of them. Prior to driving Caravans, I drove Buick Centuries and I was lucky to get 20K on a set of rotors.

You got hosed like the rest of us with drum brakes. Chevy went cheap on the new trucks and some of us are suffering.

 

Do a search on brakes and you will find some answers.
