hooking up subs to stock cd player?

So basically I can get 2 10's from my friend for $45. I have an '05 silverado with the stock cd player. I'll need to buy an amp to hook them up to but my question, can they be hooked up to the stock cd player or do you have to buy an aftermarket cd player to hook anyhting up these days?

Sure you can. You'll either need a Line Output Converter or a PAC adapter. Either will work. The PAC adapter is quite a bit easier to install, but the LOC only costs about $20 (PAC can run as high as $100).

Yeah you can hook up your subs to your factory radio. You can get a OEM converter box that will send the sub out put. Here what i am talking about. http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/dept.asp...=17612&l1=17612
