My 2500HD with a load carrying capacity of  9200#s sits higher on the rear. Assuming I need to have the vehicle level to drain the rear axle or at least have it level when refilling the axle, how do I tell if the vehicle is level?

eaven thow your truck is high in the back the axle is not affected by this as it is below the springs, the fore/aft is not the big factor here as there is little diffrence, park it in a fairly lelvel place, the left and right is the more sensitive angle as u could put in a lot of fluid that would fill the axle tube "hiding" the fluid

what i did w set a small level on the bumpstop pad on top of the axle just inboard of the leaf spring, and jacked up the low side of the axle with a floor jack (block front wheels for safety as the park will have no effect when one wheel is off the ground)

if u do not have a floor jack drive arround till u find a flat spot or drive your rear wheel on small shims of wood until it reads level

if are working on the front dif i do not know spacifics as mine is 2 wheel
