Which way to point sub in regular cab

I have a kicker L7 15" in my regular cab and the woofer is pointed at the back window magnet pointed toward windshield. Just wondering if thats a good way to position it or not? My buddy has two 10s pointed toward his windshield angled in his reg cab ram and it seems to hit pretty nice. So im wondering if i pointed the sub the other way if it would hit harder. Or possible downfiring or upward firing which way hits the hardest? its already hit over 126dbs because thats as hi as my sound meter goes but im just wondering if its ok pointed toward the wall or if something is better. Id have to redo the whole box but it was fun the first time and any suggestions are appreciated. Ive dynomatted the whole back wall and side pillars, both the doors and the floor behind the seats. Also dynamat right behind the magnet and used polyester filling to keep the rattle down in the box. Im thinkin of getting new speaker terminals and running thicker wire inside the box and to the amp....right now its 16gauge(speaker wire) would lower gauge change anything or is it just a waste of time?

How much the gauge would help would depend a little on how much power you're pushing...But with an L7, I'd imagine that it's quite a bit. Can't go wrong with thicker wires :nopity:

I'm still trying to figure out how you fit that big-a$$ sub behind the seat in a regular cab. Those things are HUGE.

I would turn it around and fire it at front window. try porting the box on the L7 they love to be ported. I have 3 L7 12 in back of my truck ported and fireing towrds the front and they slam hard. Running bigger wire would bring more watts to the subs. Im about to run 8 gauge wire to each one from my amps. but d**n how do you fit a 15 behind a regualr cab seat they are huge O.O

I cut the back off the middle seat wrapped the box around the back of the chairs and into were the middle seat was. The magnet is were the middle seat use to be with the box made around it and the woofer faces the back wall with a huge metal grille on it to protect it. Then i took the padding from the midde seat and put it around the box so that now the box is actually the middle back of the seat and it can still be used. Basically when you look inside it looks totaly stock and is still a 3 seater. Amps are under the seats. But im running 16 gauge from the sub to the box outlet to the amp so i really need to get something thicker. I dont think there is enough airspace to port it. The amp that pushes the sub is only a zx1500.1 running at 1705watts and seems like it can handle much more.

hmm i dont know if there is a way to fit the sub so it shoots foward toward the window. I think your right sierrawolf it would be better that way and ported also. maybe ill try porting it first and see how that turns out along with thicker wires. My buddy just got an '03 silverado ext cab so we have to put his stereo from his dodge to the new truck. Man that thing skeets he did a complete 360 and then some on a side road off the highway. Me i have to rev my lil v6 to do that but it did it effortlessly. Hes got the 5.3 automatic. I just got my 5spd tranny rebuilt but that truck is nice.

Nice that seems to be a lot of work to do all that but still nice job. Porting that 15 will sound nice. I havea freind that has 2 L7 15 in a Sierra ported and OMG is slams so hard he already shaterd his side windows off. But a side note your freind system that comeing out the dodge might sound a lot differnt when he puts it into a new truck cause of the air space will be a whole lot differnt then in a dodge but nothing like a lil tuneing will help.
