96 Burb hesitates/misses in overdrive?

I have a 96 Burb (140000 miles) that hesitates/misses at freeway speeds in overdrive when placed under load - like going up a small hill or passing. As soon as the tranny downshifts or I take it out of overdrive the hesitation is gone and it charges right up the hills without any troubles at all. It never occurs at slower speeds or other gears - only in O/D at freeway speeds with a small load on the eng/tranny. I have replaced fuel filter and spark plugs with no luck. Also, I hooked up a scanner and no codes have shown up. Some times I think this hesitation may be worse when the Burb is warmed up or hot - seems to do it a little less when it's cold. Any ideas where to start with this problem - it seems to be getting worse? Thanks in advance.

Disable your torque converter lockup from the computer to transmission, I have a 94

Roadmaster with the same problem. I changed the wires, distributor, plugs, icm module,

coil and the lockup solinoid , no help. Then I disconnected the lockup wire and had no

more problems. I was told that it is a bad torque converter.
