Sub No Worky...

Hi everyone, I just purchased a Pionner DEH1800 radio and succesfully installed it into my truck and now my sub(that I had installed on my factory radio with a LOC) doesn't play. I uninstalled the LOC when I put the new headunit in and plugged the RCA cables into the back of my new h/u RCA preamp outputs. All I get is a very small amount of movement in the sub. So I plugged the LOC back in and the sub works fine with the new radio. Problem is that the RCA Preouts aren't doing there job somehow. Anyone know what is wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated! :banghead:

you might check your rca cable and make sure its good.(try another rca cable) make sure your power is good and it is grounded well. also check your remote wire and make sure its working. there are some adjustments for the output to the amp that are built into the radio. if you dont have an owners manual get on pioneer.com and look at it. other than that i dont know what else it could be.

While this is probably not the problem, take a look at your RCA cables. Make sure they are heavy enough gauge for your set-up. For example; I had some home audio RCA cable in my vehicle that would only allow the subs to move a minute amount (up to a certian volume). After I switched them out, no more problems. But as lerbud04 said mess around with the settings on your new deck. After you try that, go back to the place you bought the deck from and say: Here, fix it! :banghead:

Thanks for the help! On another board, a guy said the reason it wasnt working was because it wasnt a sub preamp output. Is this why? Well, I ended up plugging my LOC back in and it works ok but I really want it to be plugged into the preamp outs so it will sound better. Thanks again!
