Same here. I started to do it but my lights are 7 years old now! I began to try and peel the back cover off and watched a little of the plastic start to crumble :)

Looks like I'm either stuck with amber sides or spend the $$$ and buy new ones. I really don't want those projector beam headlights and I cannot find anywhere they sell just the clear headlights. :banghead:

I took mine out about 4 yrs ago. Takes some time to do this but its possible. I took a screwdrivert and carefully pryed it open, broke up the orange reflector into little pieces then shook out all the pieces out of the light. Used silicone to put the black backplate back onto the headlamp.

Use a heat gun to sofen up the glue and slowly work you way around prying and heating then when it is open remove the reflector to put it back together i used an epoxy glue and then sealed the joint with some caulkingpost-45685-1204062868_thumb.jpg

kushnerik, did you buy aftermarket clear corners for the lower lights? i read somewhere the orange lens is glued in or something....or can you just remove it the same as the main headlight one?

Did this about a week ago to my 04, put the lights in the oven set to 250 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Then took a screw driver and butter knife and slowly worked around the lense prying it open. Takes awhile and you gotta be careful. Once it's off, the amber lense just pops out, no glue or anything. Then I used black permatex to glue it back together. Looks good and was pretty easy despite being time consuming. By the way, an extra set of hands helps.

Just did this today. My lights are 3 years old and it was a PITA for me. It was about 40 outside, and I brought the lights in the house for a little while so they could warm up. It took me hours to separate the lights. I used a hair dryer and screwdriver, and a little prybar. I dunno why it was such a challenge but it was. I have read on a few other forums how this is not all that hard. The finished product was good though. I will post some pics tomorrow

Here is another option if you dont want to take your old lights apart. Search around on ebay:

Ive found quite a few of these on ebay rather cheap.. its almost not worth the hassle to risk breaking your stockers.. buy the replacements then sell your stockers to a body shop or Craigslist
