I pulled the trigger today and bought a 2007 Classic 1/2 ton Crew Cab LT2

Victory Red, Pewter interior, Bose sound, climate control.

Man I am so glad I decided to move up. I traded my 2005 Extended cab in with 25000 miles and carried $1600 in equity toward my new truck, got the dealer down a couple grand and I had a private offer from Chevy for $1000 that I sprung on them. All at zero percent GMAC.

I made the dealer throw in a bed liner and some ventshades to close it.

I really came out good on this. The crew is so sweet over the extended cab.

What really sucks is that my $600 Undercover won't fit, so I have to find a buyer for it then I'll buy one for my new rig.

I looked hard at the same truck in the GMC but the front end just didn't do it for me. I like the grille and hood way better on the Chevy.

That's cool that you got a new truck. Why do you say that the crew cab is better over the extended cab though? I'm a pretty big person at almost 6' tall and I have no problem riding in the back of an extended cab (although if it was my truck I wouldn't have to ride in the back anyway). Plus you can't get the 6.5' bed length which isn't that big of a deal because you're only losing a foot. I guess to haul anything long you have to put the tailgate down anyway.

Not critisizing, just curious why it's better for you to have a crew cab. Maybe you have a big family or something. Just wondering.

I am 6'6" tall and I have a wife and a 8 year old son and a 3 year old daughter.

I loved my Extended cab and for short trips an average size adult fits back there fine. But I also take trips of 6 hours or more. I was really fine with my extended cab, but when they started cutting back on the price of the crew cabs and closing the price gap between the two and then they hit the 07 with the 100K warranty and then the 0% financing, I just felt I needed to move up.

The deal for me was easy, partly because for me it's mainly a work truck. I am in sales and I get paid $500 per month to drive my own vehicle and they pay for all of the fuel. So the money to make my truck payment doesn't even come out of my paycheck.

For years , I owned a vehicle that I was able to make the pay for and this pocket $150 or so each month.

I figured this time why not move up?

Sounds like you got a great deal. Just wondering do the 2007 Classics come with 100,000 mile waranty? Congrats on your new ride. :)

yeah, all 2007 GM vehicles, cars included are now 100,000 as I understand it.

not only are they 100,000 but that includes roadside assistance and loaner vehicle also.

the imports can't touch that.

I have a question for you. I am a few inches taller than you and I bought my GMC at first because pickups are the only thing I can comfortably fit into and drive. How much room does your '07 have over your older pickup? Im talking front leg room because I never sit in the back.

to me the room feels the same.

I used to only consider a bench seat because I thought that the bucket seat with the console running up under the dash would kill my knee. But as I drove this truck with the front buckets, it has 6 way adjustable drivers seat and there are several ways that I can sit where my knee does not hit the console. On a long trip, little things like that just kill me and I have to say, I hate the way that GM is changing most of the new stuff to have these big center consoles that connect to the dash. I just can't sit in one and be comfortable. Even the bench seat rigs have that center part of the dash coming down right where my knee needs to rest.

I just won't be able to own a Suburban with the interior like that.

My friend who is 6'3" says it doesn't bother him near as bad.

It's like they are building the interior to fit only people up to a certain height when there are alot of folks over 6'2 walking around

The Undercover is IMO the best darn tonneau cover on the market.

It won a best new product at SEMA a couple of years back.

I've had one for almost two years and just ordered another one to fit my new truck.

My buddy has had one for 3 years and the black finish is still shiny black even after 3 hot Texas summers.

They come off in about a minute and can be stored easily.

I love em'

If you don't mind me asking some uhh... personal questions.

What credit score must you maintain in order to take advantage of the 0% Financing?

Also, what are your monthly payments with how long of a term?

Thanks, I appreciate the answers.

You know I worried just a little about that because sometimes they get picky on who qualifies for the 0%

I went in there thinking that my Fico score was around 700, based off of last years report.

They called and said that it was 719 and I was good for the 0%

I asked that very question, about when they started not-qualifiing people on scores and they said somewhere around 650 or lower.

I'll vouch for the undercover as well. VERY nice. VERY tough. I love being able to lock up whatever in the back, and remove it when needed.

They are expensive, but mine wasn't. I ordered mine on-line and got what turned out to be a smoking price. A few months a refund appeared on my credit card for the exact amount I paid for mine. Shortly after that I had to cancel that card and get a new one.

They are very strong as well, I stand on mine when I wash the truck and its no problem Went to the drive-in and my kids layed down on it on a sleeping bag and were very comfie.

Highly recommended.
