I was out with my brother today offroad and I came up to what looked like a small hump , what I didn't see was the foot and a half trench behind it , my front end droped in pretty hard , scared the sh*t out of us, got out fine and the truck drove fine so I didn't think anything of it and headed back to his house and checked under the truck to see if there was any visible damage or leaking , didn't see a thing. When I was ready to leave I hopped in , turned the key and nothing , tried to jump it and had the same result , just a click. I can't believe that jolt I took earlier killed my optima battery, I thought they were tougher than that. Makes me wonder if I damaged something else that'll pop up when I go to start it tommorow :banghead:

You are getting a click so crawl under the truck and make sure the starter wire didn't get ripped of. Sounds like a wire popped off somewhere.

My brother had an extra batt , put it in and it fired right up

My wife was rear-ended in her truck last year. The damage didn't look too severe to her truck, but the little Mazda that hit her was mashed in pretty bad. To her surprise, the truck wouldn't even try to start afterward. A new battery fixed that one, too.

The stupid thing was the insurance co. would not pay for a new battery, but they would pay for a "deep charge" on the existing one. The body shop owner is a friend, and he took one look at that and told his mech. to put a new battery in it since the pay for the deep charge was more than a new battery!
