Rough riding!!

I bought this truck which is a 89 Sierra a couple months ago and it's one hell of a rough ride. Im not sure if the suspension has been modified at all, but it seems to sit awful high for factory height. I know it has a 3" body lift, but it still seems high. My question is, is there anything I can do to make it ride a little smoother without sinking big money into it? On rough roads it literally feels like there is no suspension at all. Part of that is because of the 33's I have on it, but every little bump in the road rattles the whole truck. I'd like to keep it sitting at that height, but is there anything I can do without spending big money? Thanks,

that definetly looks taller than just a 3in body lift...you may want to check and make sure he doesn't have the torsion bars cranked to the max... :banghead:

I would assume if you look at the torsion bar adjustment bolts, it should indicate what they're set at. I'm not sure of specs though, as my 2500HD is probably different but if it looks like it's all the way tight, then it's probably maxed.

Check the torsion bar adjusting bolts,if they are crank up too far the shocks will bottom up and give you a very rough ride, try turning the torsion bar bolts down about 2 turns at a time and drive it and see if gets better, take note of how many turns you made in case you want to put back were it was and any adjustments made to the torsion bars will also change the alignment so you will need to get the truck alingn as soon as possible.

That front end sits high enough to back the torsion bars off quite a bit no matter what. I say back them off a little AND buy two longer shocks (or shim the ones you have down a bit)...Then Bob's your uncle.
