Drop in bedliners vs Spray on

Did much debating on which type of liner to put in my new HD.

I was leaning toward a spray in (Linex or Rhino $369). Then I thought why go with a spray in when Linex is going to sand the paint in my bed down before they spray the Liner. #### is'nt that what the bedliner is for - protect the bed? I opted out of the spray on and went with the Pendaliner SR skid resistor. To protect the bed from the Pendaliner bedliner I put down a paint saver pad before the liner was installed. It installed in 2 minutes. #### the tailgate liner even had cup holders(great for kids). The new material the bedliner is made out of is really nice, the skid resistance is actually built in to the bedliner(not like the old ones were it wears off in time).

I figure in 5 or 6 years I can replace the Pendaliner with a new one and still come out cheaper than the spray on. The liner cost $169 w/paint saver installed. Check out this

My truck was a trade with another dealer. My dealer didn't know it had a Pendaliner  in it or that it had been pinstriped. So, I got the pinstriping and the liner free. As soon as I got home I took the liner out. The next day I had a LineX sprayed in.

This is the third truck I've had LineX'd. I really like that product.

Different strokes for different blokes. :D

I like the drop ins and a bed mat on top of it. The dropins are cheaper for one, plus you can drop things on it and not worry about it denting. When I get my new truck I am just having a bed mat. The sides don't get that dinged up anyhow and when you trade the truck in, they don't even look at the bed. I can see having a spray in if you haul dirt or rocks, but a $10 tarp can hold dirt in the box just fine. One more thing is getting at the tie downs in the box can be tough with a drop in liner. I just used some add-a-links for like a log chain. This made it easier to tie stuff down.

Spray on all the way.  Although Roofer does bring a good point to light.  But for normal conditions I don't think you'll be in this situation often.
