Hello all,

I just found this forum and it looks to be a good one.

I'm about to buy an '04 Suburban Z71 and was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me.

First, What was the original warranty for these trucks? The one I'm looking at has 40k miles and I'm curious if there is any warranty left.

Second, What exactly does the Z71 package get me? I can see that the front grill and bumper are body color instead of chrome & the running boards are tubes instead of regular boards. I read that the Z71 gets you skid plates & a different suspension. Can anyone elaborate?

Lastly, If anyone can give me any general things to look for on this particluar year that is a common problem.

One thing I noticed the first time I looked at it was that some of the paint is coming of the radio buttons. does anyone know if this is covered under warranty?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

The standard warranty in 3yr/36k miles, if the original owner bought a GMPP (extended warranty) it can be transferred pretty cheap. I'm not sure about the buttons, my wifes Burban has the same problem on the steering wheel. Someday when I'm not too lazy I'll call some dealers and ask.

Welcome to

Z71 on a 'burb gets you a different rear shocks, a larger air filter, skid plates, a different looking roof rack and possibly differnent tires. This is all from memory so it's certainly possible that I'm wrong. ;)
