How Much Will This Tow Cost Me?

I am probably going to buy a 2004 2500hd this saturday, and may not have anyone to drive me the 250 miles to go get it... so my only option may be to drive my dads 1500 ecsb with a trailer out there, then load his truck up on the trailer and tow it home.

 

Question is, how many gallons do you think Id go through with the 2500 towing 250 miles on 95% turnpike?

 

May end up actually being cheaper than driving two cars, just want to find out, thanks.

If the truck has the 6.0L then figure on 8-10 MPG's while towing. Keep your speed down and the MPG's will be better...

I forgot to say the second car if we were to drive two would be a Buick Regal 3800, so ~24mpg.

If the 2500 isn't set up with a brake controller and the trailer doesn't have electric brakes, it could be a VERY expensive trip, not to mention dangerous.

Nevermind fellas, the truck ended up getting sold on me while the salesman was supposed to be getting back to me about prices/financing.
