Give us some more information....does it happen in all positions on your climate control or just certain ones? I'm working on a similiar issue w/ my 02. Do a search for "climate control" and you can read all about it.

A common problem is the actuator for the mixing door. On my Tahoe, the symptom was full heat only until you shut the truck off and started again. Any time I would crank the temp up, it would stay full hot. The actuator was about $20 and was rather easily replaced and fixed my problem. Not sure if you are having the same problem but it is a cheap fix in my case.

it does work between the ranges but it almost hat to be completely turned to the cold position to shut of any heat coming through................where is this mixing valve located? Maybe I can view it as I move the controls?

that's the same thing mine is doing and I've already changed the hot/cold actuator....didn't fix it. You should be able to hear it moving when you turn the hot/cold selector. To get to it you have to remove the plastic cover on the passengers side. If you have a center console it's sitting under the dash right in front of it.
