Wet Streaking Windows After Rolling It Down And Back Up

After it rains, for a few days after (when it's dry out), when I roll down my driver's window, and roll it back up, there is water on it. Stupid lack of observation, but I've never noticed if it was on the outside or inside of the truck. Anyone else had this issue? Truck is a 2006 Silverado 1500 WT ext cab (no power windows). The truck has done it since I owned it, and it had no miles on it when I got it, so it's something from the factory. I thought about asking the dealer, but I don't like them messing around with things unless I know it is a problem so they won't mess anything else up fixing it.

Oddly I had the same issue with a 2001 Merc Sable I owned a couple years ago. I think I have been cursed somehow! I've never had any other vehicle do this.

Thanks for the input.

my 2000 does same thing. its on the outside, its really bad when dust sits in the channel and then it rains.

My '06 will do the same thing after I've washed it. If I roll the windows down up to like 24 hours after they will streak on the way up. Worse thing is the windows will dry with the streaks on it making your freshly washed rig look terrible :chevy:

Dang, well now I don't feel special with this issue. The worse is what you said overlord, when you roll them up they dry like that. Not only does it look bad, it reduces visibility out the window. My concern is if there is water in the door, how will that affect the inside of the door years down the road? Of course, I have no power locks or power windows to break, but I don't want my door rusting prematurely!

If there was water IN the door, how would it get on the window surface? Unless it was filled with water (not likely, if not impossible). The wet streaks are from the gasket at the top of the door, where the window passes through it. Not sure why it would take 3 days of dry weather to dry it out, mine will be dry after about 24 hours. I simply do not open my windows for 24 hours after washing it.

Well, that makes sense. :-) So this happens to everyone then if the gasket has not dried out for about a day?

I think that the streaking happens to everyone, I just cleaned my windows yesterday because the streaks were so bad.
