Steering Wheel Controls

I have an 03 Suburban and I was wondering if I could add steering wheel controls. If I buy a steering wheel with audio controls and the DIC buttons is it possible to conect it and make the controls work? Because I also want to make the DIC more functional than it is.

Not sure if I got the link correct or not, but I had looked into doing this as well, however it is quite a lot of work and can be quite expensive and requires dealer flashing the computer and clockspring, airbag considerations. I added an after market unit that gives a ton of info. Only thing it does not have is the transmission temp.
