Rear A/c Drip Pan Leaking

This is a warning to all Suburban and Yukon/XL owners. This might have been already brought up and worked out with a fix, but a quick search and I didn't find much so... here goes...

The rear A/C has a drip point in the rear up under the truck to the rear of the passenger side. There is a nipple that extends from the truck and is pinched by design. This is a great design to let water come out and keep dirt out. However, mine became clogged.

I had begun to smell a mildew smell in the truck so I thought maybe the kids spilled a drink so I had the carpet professionally shampooed and cleaned. This helped for about a few days. The smell eventually came back. I was vacuuming the truck one afternoon and was getting the food remnants from the rear clamping points for the 3rd row and lifted the carpet to get a better angle on the mess. To my surprise there was water pooled in there too. I felt a bit more and holy sh!t the pad was soaked.

I pulled off the interior panels, cut and removed the pad as much as possible to dry and let the truck air out for a day. It dried and no harm was done thankfully (meaning no mold). The drip pan is on the passenger side in the rear right above the exterior nipple (obviously). It is a sealed unit so it can't be opened and cleaned.

Anyhow, moral of the story is to check that nipple at every gas fill up. I tweaked it the other day and a lot came out meaning it was blocked again, but not as much as first time. Check it often so I'm the only one with this experience. :D

that nipple. I tweaked it the other day

Haha, I'm now recalling a story I heard about Jennifer Lopez having a person on staff just to do that for her. But enough of my useless info.
