Getting the truck glass tinted tomorrow, and I was wondering what you guys and gals got yours tinted. I was thinking 15% for back and extended cab windows and 30% for driver and passenger. Both are legal in Texas. I put limo (5%) on the back of a Dakota once but it was hard to see at night but was great for keeping out the Texas heat. Suggestions? Thanks.

i have the factory tint in back and 20% up front i like it alot matches perfect and i can still see out easy

I put 20% over the factory tint in the back and 35% on the sides. The county cops where we moved are a lot stricter than the old county we lived in before so I went legal with 35%. I had 20% on all my vehicles before but my wife got pulled over 3x for the 20% and I just got tired of the fines. My Firehawk however still has 20% but since it's mostly a warm weather car the windows are always down.

I got it done today. 15% for back and 30% front. See sig. Looks great and really cuts down the mean texas sun. :chevrolet:

I have the factory dark rear windows and have 20% on the front windows. 20% is the darkest you can go on the front windows here in Houston., otherwise I would go darker.

I would have gone darker, but at my age (50), the eyes are not what they used to be :chevrolet:-hard to see once the sun goes down !

I don't know what the limit out here is, but I had 5% on mine for a little under a year(came that way). I removed it because it was too hard to see, even during the day.

Looks great! Mine has 5% on the back and 20% on the sides. I've always had that on my trucks.

Texas law states that front side glasses can't have anything darker than 35%. If you have darker tint the truck won't pass annual inspection and some cops will pull you. I chance it anyway with the cops but I will have to remove the front window tint when my 2 year new vehicle inspection runs out in order to get it inspected again.. then I'll just replace it. IF I still have the same truck.
