I ran across this site while googling for info on my motorhome, which I just bought used this April. It's my third motorhome and is definitely one I will keep a long time. It had only 9700 miles on it when I bought it. It's got a 454 V8 and is 28 feet long on a one ton van chassis. My only complaint, well not really a complaint, but a preference, is I wish they built motorhomes on the GMC chassis instead of the Chevy chassis because I like the looks of the grill on most all GMC trucks better than the Chevy grill. BTW, which is the higher end truck, a Chevy or a GMC? I would think the GMC since they often are sold by Pontiac dealers.

 

This is my first GM truck. Very pleased with it and especially like that it has a real oil pressure gauge, unlike some brands. While there isn't a motorhome forum here, I hope to be able to learn about the engine, tranny, and chassis here. Actually I don't even see a forum for the Van chassis.

 

Another forum I would love to see here is one on motor oil.

You should be able to find out a lot of information pertaining to your 1 ton chassis, many parts are similar to trucks. As far as motor oil goes there has been plenty of discussion on here about it, you just have to look around.
