Largest Tires On A Factory Wheel

What is the largest size tire i can put on my factory wheels on my 2000 chevy Z-71, without any rubbing? 285 or would a 32x12.50X16 work?

Those 2 tires are pretty much the same size. The 285's are considered 33's but come in at about 32.6ish or the same as 32 12.50 16's. Both will fit on stock wheels as many here have them. At the most you my have to crank the t-bars just a bit but thats easy. I think most just bolt on and go. Maybe one of those guys will chime in.

I would like to know the answer to a similar question. Will 285's go on a 2004 GMC 17" stock with no modifications? 265/70R17 come on the truck.

The local tire shop here said I should be able to fit 305/70/16 on my factory wheels and factory ride height(TB turned up

). Is my local tire shop just trying to sell me tires?
