AFD256 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hey I know tgis sounds crazy but........ I just got a clay bar yesterday and had an an idea this AM. I know the truck body has to be cool and clean, and everyone says make sure to use enough lube. I got up and it is pouring out, so can you clay bar in the rain? The truck is clean, the body cool and there is more than enough lube. Whatdo you clay bar experts think? Crazy? or Crazy possible?
asilverblazer Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I would make sure the truck is really clean prior to using the clay bar. Don't rely on the rain to get the surface dirt off. Second you will want to apply wax immediately after, if it is raining that won't happen. In itself I don't see a problem using the clay bar in the rain aside from the remaing work you will need to subsequently do in the rain. (If you can clay bar it in the rain then move in to a garage/covered area to wash the clay residue off and apply wax.)
Str8 Up Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 even if the truck was clean before the rain, you wouldn't believe the dirt partilces and impurities that are in the rain droplets themselves. probably no worse than what comes out of the tap though.
