What state are you in?

Each state has different laws regarding tint,And if every state is like Pa. the law changes from year to year!!

I have 5% on all 4 doors and the rear window. Not "legal" of course. 1 ticket so far in 5 months of having the truck. I love the way my truck looks with all the windows blacked out. the truck is white, so the contrast in color stands out quite a bit.

What is the maximum legal tint that you can have on a Crew Cab pickup? Front/Side/Rear?

Thanks.

I think you are in Texas and the legal limit is 35% on the front two windows and then as dark as you want on the back two. On the flat rear pane it can be as dark as you want and you can't tint your front one unless you get just the eyebrow tint. I just recently tinted mine to match the factory rear tinting, so I got 25% (illegal) on the front two side windows to match the rear two. It looks great!

I really don't think that somebody will give you a ticket for your windows being 25 or 15% as long as you roll your windows down if you ever get pulled over for speeding or something like that.

I'm in TX, so 25% front and rear while any in the back.

I drive about 20K miles per year, so I don't want to risk a ticket... guess I'll have to stay legal.

What does an over-tint ticket cost?

Ryan - can I get the backs darker than 25% like it says on that tint page? I was thinking 15% front, 5% the rest, and roll the windows down if I get pulled over!

As far as I know, yes, you can as long as you have dual side mirrors .... but, I am sure they might try to give you a hard time about it if you are pulled over. Police like to see what's in the car regardless of the tint law.

My 'Hit'..... what do you mean?

Hell yea, I love that video!

I'm almost postive you can go as dark as you want on the two side (crew) passenger windows and the flat rear window. The only requirement that you have to meet 'legally' is the front two side windows which must be 35%. I really don't foresee getting tickets because they are darker than that. I've had my 25% tint for about 2 months and have not even seen a look from a cop.

Where do you live? If you live down here in College Station I suggest going to Ag Solar Guard, they did a great job with mine.

just get a medical waiver from your primary care physician or A doctor friend...tell him you suffer from "photophobia" or light sensitivity...when you look at the sun do you squint? print out a sun-shading medical waiver form from DMV. here in VA front side is 50%, rear side and rear window is 35% ....with the waiver 35% all around and 70% on the windshield

Yea, Ag Solar Guard does good tint... just don't let them touch your stereo!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I am going to get it done at a chain up here in Frisco, but I might get it done down there this fall with football season coming up. Montana State shouldn't be too crazy of a weekend to drop my truck off over there before going to the RV tailgating scene!

If you ever need anything in CS, let me know. I know the owners of all the local shops and am still in good with most of them.

Here is the values from the Texas DPS website. Same as some others have said:

25% total light transparency (stock tint plus film) on front two windows and any value down to 0% transparency on rear passenger windows and back window if both side mirrors are equipped. Front windshield only to the AS-1 line and must be at least 25%.
