Installing A New Headunit+speakers, Need Some Help.

Im kinda new here, but i really like the forums from what i have been reading.

I have 2 questions:

1)I have a 02 yukon with onstar and a regular (not bose) system in it, when i used a wiring harness adapter, i got the HU to power and but no sound out of the factory speakers, i did some reading online and found out that there is a factory amp behind my glovebox that i need to bypass, is this true? would i just be better off wiring my speakers by myslef straight to my HU?

2) does anyone here have a link to a website that can give me a tutorial on removing my door panels on the yukon without breaking them?

Thanks

The door panel...

There's a screw behind the little triangle plastic piece at the front of the glass. The plastic piece just pops off.

There's a screw behind the lock slider. The slider just pops out as well.

There's a screw behind the funky-shaped plastic piece that surrounds the opening handle.

After getting the screws out, lift the panel straight up and it should come right off...Just be careful to not just jerk it, as you'll have to get behind it and unclip the wires going the the power window/lock switch.

As with most interiors these days, go slow, take your time, and be carefuly pulling the pieces off. Some of them break easily.
