Switching To Synthetic Trans Fluid?

I run synthetic in the engine, and I am wanting to service the tranny now. Is 74,000 miles too late to switch to synthetic in the trans, or would I be OK? I have no problems with it right now, shifts great, and hasn't given me any hints of problems so far. I just wasn't sure if there were any issues with switching this far into the game. Not that 74k is a ton of miles........

I have 76k on my truck and thinking about the same. Local dealer quoted about $200.00 to change from the regular ATF to BG Universal Synthetic ATF using their flush machine. The price is not too bad, I am just not sure about the BG ATF.

You should no problem switching. That dealer want to install BG Universal because that's what's in their flush machine. It would be to much trouble to keep a different machine for each type. I would be leary of the BG fluid myself.
