Yesterday a new 06-07 Titan pulls out of Lowes with about 10 4X8 sheets of sheet rock. I thought that they had a full 8 ft box and it looked like one but he had them on top of the tailgate. The driveway is kind of ruff so when he hit it his tail gate collapsed and the sheet rock is now about 4X6 or so. The front in of the truck was looking up and it appeared that the rear springs were down on the bump stops.

Now that was just plain mean spirited for you to share such a mishap like this  . I hate you did not get any pictures so we could all get a good laugh. :banghead:

haha he probably had one of those tool boxes up front in his bed, i see people do that all the time at work, i saw a guy throw a hole bunch of 4x4 treated posts in his truck and the way he had them he layed them up on the tool box, one little slip and he lost one though the back window :banghead::cheers: i felt pretty bad chuckling to myself

General do I need to draw a picture for you? It happened when he pulled out of Lowes driveway. That to me was the best part not even out of the parking lot good when everything go to he77 in a handbasket. :)

I can almost verify this story personally.

I had an 07 Titan SE KingCab (yeah I defected temporarily) and the worst part of the truck was the suspension... or lack of suspension. Small rises in the road made it bottom out. I would have been afraid to load it with a lot of weight. It did haul a$$ and pull my boat well...

It had to go though and I came back to GM. I only owned it for 4.5 months! Luckily a buddy wanted to buy it... He now has a 2007 Titan in HIS driveway. I never had a minutes trouble with the truck but I didn't have it long.

I say you are better off with fred 2. Besides the fact that it looks better it will undoubtably last longer.

Thanks and I agree with you. I really like the new GMC.

I guess I should talk Wingnut into coming up with a new name for his truck so mine can be just plain Fred.

Sorry.

When I bought it, that was one of your conditions...Fred had to stay Fred.

Yeah... I know. It just wouldn't be right.

There's more than one Fred in the world you know.

Did I show you the Bedrug?

Yeah... it's too cool. Looks great with the grey headliner. I bet it actually makes the truck quieter inside. RCSB trucks seem to suffer from noise from the bed area. I guess you found the hidden longhorn when you did that...

I looked at shells like Fred has but the NBS isn't as kind to shell styling as Fred was. The new ones look a little too "farmer" like. Think i'm gonna do the bed cover thing this time round.

Yeah, I found the hidden Longhorn. It's now upside-down on my 4' wide OU sign that's on the wall in my garage.

My neighbor saw it before I did (I had a 500 lb shell on my back), and he about crapped himself. He's such a rabid OU fan, he kicks people out of his house when they lose.

Oh, and with the amp and subs and components that Fred is now sporting, road noise isn't really an issue either.

Fred has to be the first truck with a shell that I actually liked. Maybe it has something to do with the color, or maybe it is the RC/SB that does it.

I loved Fred. There have been many times (since Wingnut took advantage of my moment of weakness) that I wished I had that truck back!

Now I am in the process of creating a new "Fred". I wanted a cap for my new truck but the bed is higher than it was on the old body and the shells just don't look as good. Might just do a bed cover if I can find one that looks good.
