Aftermarket Headlight Bulbs?

Hey all, I was wondering has anyone changed there H11 headlight bulbs in there truck to an aftermarket bulb. I am looking for a good aftermarket bulb to last until I buy HID's for the truck. I am looking for a really bright white light, not a blue look. I just put PIAA’s Xtreme White Plus bulbs in and they are junk, what a waste of money. In my 05 Silverado I used Philips Crystal Vision bulbs and they were awesome, I had them in my hi/lo beams and I had hi beams in my fog lights. In this new truck I have the crystal visions in my hi beams and I am going to do the foglight upgrade as well. But they dont carry H11 bulbs. Any suggestions on a really bright aftermarket H11 bulb.

Thanks,

I used to have a blue headlight, and yes they were bright and a wide view area with no one else on the road. I found out the incandecent cancels out the blue light, and I couldnt see my lights when an oncoming car was coming. Id hope the white ones are better.

I use the PIAA's and am extremely happy. What makes them crap for you? Check out the fog light upgrade link in my sig and you'll get to see the PIAA's on mine at night. They are the cleanest light I have found yet. Sylvania doesn't make an H11 SS or SSU yet.

Nokya Artic whites or Arctic Purples. I have Arctic Purples in my other truck and they are bright. Some cars would flash their brights at me thinking I had my hi-beams on. The awesome thing is the arctic purples don't look purple at all it's just a very clean looking light.

i just found this while searching ... the H9 can be modified to work in the H11 spot ... and the H9's are available a little brighter ...

Don't do it. You will be switching right back to H11s I promise you.

with a higher lumen rating of the H9 ... if i do switch i doubt i would switch back till more of the H11's

How does everyone like Sylvania Silverstars? are PIAAs better?

I'm using the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras and they are considerably brighter and whiter than stock bulbs. I had the regular Sylvania Silverstars previously and one burned out after about 15 mos. I was a bit disappointed with the longevity but it only happened with one bulb. It's too early to tell if that is normal and the same for the Ultras.

very interesting info here. So i've been reading up on the H11 Nightbreaker bulbs. So all in all, the H11 is right for the low beams of our trucks, and the H9s are for our highs?
