Rough Country Leveling Kit

I'm hoping to get it installed in my '07 GMC nbs after work today. My question is how can a spacer that is 1" thick give 2" of lift??? I'm thinking about chucking them up in the milling machine today and shave 1/8" off which would give me 1-7/8 lift, I don't want the front higher than the back.

I will post some pics hopefully tomarrow if I get it done.

don't shave any off. it won't be higher in the front. it's all geometry and angles as to how a 1" spacer will bring it up 2".

I have this kit installed and it is perfect, just slightly, and I do mean slightly, higher in the rear than the front. DO NOT shave it down unless you are certain you want it less than 2" of lift. The guys running 2.5" kits are the ones with the front ends sometimes being higher than the rear.

I just bought the kit too. Just wondering what you guys torqued the bolts down too. both the shock lower bolts and the sway bar links.

I got the 1.5" kit just because I do tow a little and haul stuff in the back. Also less CV axle angle.

I have the revtek but ordered the rough country last week beacuse the one I have rides a little harsh. I want it at least level. I may keep a spacer on top to get a full 2 inches of lift. I dont want to have to realign at shell out anouther $40.

some one has to know the torque settings.

crank it down til it feels tight. if all else fails do that in conjuction with loc-tite. this isnt engine building, i never use a torque wrench.

37 ft./lbs. on the lower strut bolts

17-20 ft./lbs on the sway bar link

I installed the Rough Country last night, took about 1.5 hrs, pretty slick deal. I milled 1/8 inch off the 2" spacer and I ended up with about 1.5 lift. Front is 3/4" to 1" lower than the back, perfect for what I was looking for. Hopefully I will get some pics. posted soon.

thanks. I have the 1.5" kit. I wanted the front to sit a little lower but not like stock is.

you can get a 2" version.

I got the 1.5" one just because I tow and haul stuff every so often. So I want the back alittle higher but not too high like stock is.

I just installed mine today after work,The 1.5" version,Its just what I was looking for,Took me about hour-and-a-half.

Just like 07blackz71 said,I just wanted the front a little higher than it was stock and the 1.5" kit was perfect.

Controller,You should've just bought the 1.5" version like me and 07blackz71 did and you wouldn't of had to mill anything off!!

did you get an alignment yet and if so how far off is it.

also I didn't install mine yet but did you follow all of the instructions or did you skip a step or two?

07blackz71,No...no alignment yet,I just did it tonight after work,but I'm going to call my buddy tomorrow and make an appointment ASAP.

As far as skipping a step or two,Yes I did,I didn't break the tie-rod ends loose,but thats it.I tried not loosening the upper strut nuts and not breaking the upper ball joints loose from the knuckles but I just couldn't get the spacers in far enough and the bolt holes lined-up enough without doing those two steps.

Also,It was a bear for me to get the lower control arm/knuckle back up to meet the upper control arm/ball joint,fortunately my Dad was around to help me,I used the floor jack to help push the lower control arm/knuckle up to meet the upper control arm/ball joint,then I pushed the upper control arm/ball joint down into the knuckle while he started the ball joint nut on,once he got it on a couple threads I was alright and able to tighten it all back up!
