"change Engine Oil" Display At Start

At engine start I am getting "change engine oil" displayed briefly then goes away (on 5.3 GMC 2005). I have just recently changed the oil with synthetic at 21K miles. This is the second change with synthetic. Pressure and quantity look good and I don't get the prompt any other time. I did change to a WIX filter this lat time, would this be of any revelance? I did not get this message before this last oil change and it was generated pretty much immediatly after.

I wouldnt worry. Just rest the OLM and drive like usual. Now if you get low or no oil pressure, then worry.

Reset your oil life monitor, it's in the owners manual.

No worries................turn your key to the 'on' position.......dont start the truck though...........then press your gas pedel real fast 5 times.......turn your key off...........you are good to go now.........that resets your 'Change Oil' system.

Turn key on, push gas pedal to floor (3) times with in 5 seconds, it should flash, then turn key off.

I did the same but after pushing the pedal 3 times in 5 seconds i had to wait about another 5 seconds before the engine oil light flashed i think 5 times then it turns back to the red battery light. then mine was reset. before i kept tuning the truck off imediatly right after i pushed the pedal 3 times and it wasnt resetting haha just a heads up

Worked out great, key to "on" and five times on the gas pedal. Prompt went away and has not returned.
