I like the way an all black truck looks and I wanted to paint all the chrome on mine black but decided to just do some minor touches to get rid of some of the chrome and give it a little better look. I ended up painting the chrome side mirrors black, the stock chrome grill insert black, and the chrome rocker trim down the sides of it black. It is very minor touches but I think it made a difference. I also removed my nerf bars, upgraded to 285's and I plan to upgrade my tailights to the 03-04 silverado tail lights.

Have to say I think it looks worse, sorry. The before was much better. Now the newer tail lights, that's a great idea. They do look much better.

It's all according to opinion. I wanted to paint my bumpers and grill black also but decided against it since it would be a lot of work. Like I said, I like the "all black" look.

I like it, but only on a black truck. I also would not have painted the chome mirror caps, I would have at least found somebody to swap for some. I really like the grille. Not so much the side trim.

Why don'y you pull off the 4x4 decal... Mine came off my truck the first day I owned it!

I have been debating on taking those off and the "chevrolet" and "silverado" on the tailgate and just leaving the "2500" on the sides but I have not decided.

I think it looks pretty good. The only thing I would have done differently would be to remove all of the trim. I did it on mine and I think it looks so much better. I too have upgraded the taillights to 03-04 and they look great. If you switched to clear corners it would probably accentuate the black more. Did you have to cut the bumper so the 285s don't rub?

It looks great! I'm not a nerf bar fan either... I love the way you blacked out the side molding instead of removing it. Smart move. You still have the protection and it doesn't stand out. Trucks look SO plain and cheap with nothing on the side...IMHO.

Those have to be the best looking factory wheels ever on a GM truck (prior to 2007 anyway).

Good job and it looks like your truck instead of somebody else's now. WOO HOO!

EDIT: And YES... take off the 4x4 decal. (my vote)

Thanks. I wanted to keep the trim but have it blend it with the truck (all black) because I am parked in tight parking spots most of the time at work and everywhere else and I know that trim is protecting my body from being dented from all of the inconsiderate people. :)

Thanks. I like my stock wheels also and they definitely clean up well. Making it look a "little" different was the idea and I think it made it look a little newer too since the newer HD's come with black mirrors and a black grille. :)

lookin good...just need to paint that crome strip maybe get a shiney bowtie on the grille...the bumper would be alot of work though....id get the clears like the other suggested and Tint them so that you can't see them during the day...that'd be dark....I'd suggest against taking off the 4x4 sticker on such a dark truck...I took it off and now when the sun hits it just right I can see where it once was....mines a '99 dark blue.....oh but it does look better w/o in my opinion all I did was leave the bowtie on the side of the doors and that I have never seen
