Go for it. The WORST thing your dealer might say is that your front struts are no longer "under warranty" but with a little complaining to your regional GM rep the problem will magically go away!

I also asked the service department a few days ago about a leveling kit and he told me he didnt see a problem but then said down the road he couldnt guarantee that there wouldnt be some issue.

It's a spacer. It does very little but raise the front of the truck 2 inches. As with anything that changes the ride height of independent suspension, you should have an alignment performed when you install it.

Wrong, Struts are not effected buy the lift at all just a spacer is added to the top or bottom. Call your dealer and get the answer it will be differant dealer by dealer some allow them some dont but yes it will effect the warranty only if that lift made something go out like CV joints, boots, tierod ends, ball joints etc, frontend related in other words. But if you go to a dealer that doesnt allow them and they are sticking by the rules and you have a busted cv joint and they see the spacer lift they will blame that on the problem it will get logged (red flagged) into the dealers computer as you have a lift and any dealer can see the red flag incase you try and go to a differant dealer to get the problem fixed. I have seen dealers and also heard that even though you go in for warranty repairs lets say and rattle in your dash and they see the lift they will also note that on the dealers computer and like I say all dealers are differant. My wife worked for our local dealership and friends of our still work there one of them is the service mananger so I know how they operate.

96vette is right. I wasn't saying the lift would hurt the struts. Just that (some) dealers will point at anything aftermarket and say it isn't their fault. Go for it. I think yuo'll love the look and like most everybody else in here you won't have any problems. Live a little!

I put 2" Skyjacker leveling kit on yesterday. It dose look much better. I noticed when I installed it. It put the front drive shaft at a harder angle. I hope the drive shaft can handle the harder anngle with out any problems.

I've had my front end lifted for over 5 years and have not had a single driveline problem. As for my dealer, well, they didn't way anything but I agree with 96vette, that each dealer is different. I say ask the dealer you will be doing business with as well because they hold the cards when it comes to service and what they will warranty.

 

I think the trucks look great leveled-out with 33" tires on them.

Your truck looks GOOD! What kind of tires and wheels do you have? Also what kind of body side molding do you have?
