Ideas & How-to Add Pillar Pod Gauges On A Gas Truck

I have a 99 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 5.3. I have always loved the diesel trucks as well as modified cars with additional gauges on the A-pillar. My factory cluster has volts, water temp and oil pressure. If I were to add gauges, what would be needed. I know a tranny temp gauge would be one of them, becuz I do occassional tow and even plow snow. Becuz I plow snow, I am pulling some power down and will be adding a second aux. battery like a diesel to support my plow, all electronics, and possibly future strobe lights. Would an additional voltmeter gauge be appropriate, a more accurate volt gauge?

Does anyone have any ideas on what gauges would be useful?

Upon deciding which gauges to use, I would have to go at hooking them up. I know the half ton's are wired to have a tranny temp gauge, becuz you can swap clusters and have an operational gauge.

You should be able to put like a tri pillar pod gauge set in, and monitor the vitals, like transmission temperature, battery volts, and boost (jk) the third what ever you would like in, maybe the interceptor would be a good pick for you. My pick at it, if your putting pod gauges in, dont get one, get a couple. 3 looks amazing in almost any truck in my opinion. Depends on what you want to have in though.

I do like the look of 3 pod gauges. That interceptor looks pretty cool and easy to install, and the benefit is that it plugs right into the obdII port and monitors 2 parameters at a time. However, $240 for one gauge is more than I like. Then again, I do like the digital readouts and being able to switch between numerous different areas to monitor off of one gauge. Until I sell my project car or my daily driver suv, it's all just ideas at the moment.
