dont know why they didn't dual tip it, but it would have probably all been on the right side only lol

OK, so the system is pretty much a dual, but they skimped again.

I don't think the actual cats would be any different though.

What were/are your plans anyway??

keep the exhaust. if you want duals, have a muffler shop tap off of whats coming out. from what ive read there does'nt seem to be much difference at all [except noise] by going to a cat back system. GM has done a good job with flow[6.0 liter anyway] BUT if you want noise...by all means go ahead :happysad::puke:

must be a difference in '05 & ''06 HD exhaust, mine is all 3" with cats, and the single 3.5" tip. I got Magnaflow hi-flow cats though so those aren't the originals, so as for the stock cats I dont know what the specs are for those, but i'm interested to know. & as for my pipes being 3" that must be stock it sure looks it. I peaked under my truck today & its black all zround my cats though.. so must be leaking..

The only reason I'm curious is b/c my father in-law's HD has the same Flowmaster setup as my 1/2 ton but is quite a bit louder so I was wondering if it was pipe diameter or difference in the cats. I realize that his is a 6.0L and mine is a 5.3L but I wouldn't think the volume difference would be so dramatic. I've also noticed other HD's in the area sound similar. And I deffiantly want his volume.

do you both have the same setups? true duals? if so then yeah it must be the larger pipe size, and possibly tip size, and does he have a CAI?
