Anyone Have 2007 Ltz Wheels On A 2006?

I think I read somewhere on here that the NBS rims have a different offset than the classics. Somebody might be able to help out in what the differences are to make sure nothing rubs.

Uh oh that would suck... yeah I'm not really sure what the offsets are. I called the dealer to get pricing and mentioned I'd be putting them on a '06 and he didn't say anything. BTW if anyone cares, he quoted me $880/ea brand new, but he also mentioned that they often get takeoffs and sell all 4 with tires for ~$1800.

They fit PERFECTLY and I've seen both last gen pickups AND SUV's that people have put a set of 2007+ GMT-900 wheels on.

The best sources are, like mentioned, dealers who've done takeoffs for customers who got custom wheels, and moreso, Ebay--which is always loaded to the gills with every style, and of the same takeoff status. Ebay is one of the best sources for new OEM takeoffs, both in selection and pricing.

I wish I had pictures, but I've seen a 2006 Silverado crew cab that had the new 2007+ Silverado 17" wheels, another Silverado and a Tahoe & Suburban with the new 18" Z71 wheels, and also a few last gen Avalanches with the 20" Chevy and GMC SUV wheels.

Good to hear I was wrong. Good luck with the wheel hunt. And yes, dealer take-offs and ebay are a better source than buying per wheel.

You weren't wrong. They are different offsets. GM distributed a tech note saying not to interchange GMT800 and GMT900 wheels because of the offset. Likely because of the different stress on the wheel bearings.

With that said, it doesn't mean they won't fit. I've been looking for aftermarket 20's for a few weks and the offsets on them are all over the place.

That kinda stinks... do you know what the offsets are? They couldn't be too much different right?

Like I said, they fit perfectly, and the reason for that is the offset difference barely anything. I've seen them, again, put on many GMT-800 trucks and they sit exactly the same as the original wheels. I think the offset difference is around 10mm (old around 20mm, new at 30mm), from what I was just reading, which makes for a hair difference that some see and some don't--having seen many in person, I "don't".

So, aside from a random GM TSB put out, it really doesn't mean much. Many owners have already made the swap, and now that I remember it, one of the "old" Suburbans I saw with the new Z71 was DONE by the dealer.

Just do it...there's no worry, and you're better off with GM OEM wheels still than anything aftermarket, in various ways.

Heres my 05 with 07 wheels. Fit no problem. The wheels were $280 shipped from ebay and the plastic lug nut covers were $48 from the dealership.PICT0023.jpg

I know this isn't EXACTLY what you were asking but BLKchevy has late model Escalade 18 inchers on his 99 Z71 and they fit fine.

There's a guy a couple of blocks over from me with the GMT900 LTZ 20's on a 96 Z71. He said they bolted right up.

Personally, I don't think they look all that great on THAT body style. But they do look nice on the 800's.

I'm liking the Avalanche/Tahoe 20's when they're put on the pickups. They look great.

Ancient thread I know, just thought I'd post the final outcome :D

Definitely happy with them. I really dig the look over the old wheels, and can tell the slight ride height difference for sure. These are takeoffs from a 2008, not sure on the lingo does that mean GMT-900 or something? Anyhow they bolted right up, no problems, no rubbing at all even at lock.
