I read a few years ago that Chrysler was painting all the Neon's with water based paint.

 

I have never heard much more about this.

 

What type of paint is used on the Chevrolet and GMC trucks?

About what year did they begin using water based exterior paints?

GM in the 80's. The "E" coat was the first and then as time & technology went on all coats. It was an EPA requirement. Less chemicals in & less out.
