I'm looking at a new ratio, and some kind of locker, and have been coming across some numbers that I have no clue what to do with. I see 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5, in all of the ratios. What are those referencing? And I'm pretty sure its 10 bolt right? And is it 28 or 30 spline? Thanks guys.

The 8.5,9.5 and 10.5 is refering to the ring gear size,If your truck is a 1/2-ton it has a 10-bolt with an 8.625" ring gear.

Also it should be 30-spline axles.

Yep.

Most,if not all,items listed for the 8.5" rear-end also fit the 8.625" rear-end.

Its always a good idea to check with the manufacturer for fitment first just to be sure.
