New K-5

I doubt it. But those 2-doors are awesome. Too bad every time I see one for sale, it has well over 100k on it and/or looks like it's been beat all to hell.

But if they did make one... I'd be all over it.

I doubt it comes back. I think the market for that vehicle would be low. People nowdays spend 30-50K on a new truck want it all - more space etc...

I have an old one and plan on keeping it forever I guess.

You never know it might come back, check out these concepts they had a few years back. If the links show up dead then try viewing in full size k5_01.jpg

Judging by the front end thats an old concept.

I really like the 2 doors too. Unfortunately 2 door vehicles just don't sell in any real numbers. That's why you don't see nearly as many 2 door coupes in manufacturer's lineups anymore. I think it's sad that they are a thing of the past.

Look at the sales of the FJ Cruiser. If the FJ sells exceptionally well, GM will make a competitor.

Ideally it'd be kind of a Jeep/FJ Cruiser/Xterra competitor, same price target, low to mid 20s, targeted towards 18-34 year old single guys who want a fun toy for the weekend, that sort of thing.

I thought that the FJ (Fat Jeep) was trying to compete with the Hummers...

Boy you aren't kidding,I looked a one a few weeks ago while I was down North Carolina,It was a '94 and had almost 230,000 miles on it and they wanted $3,995.00 for it!!

It wasn't in bad shape at all, being a southern truck, but still,4-grand with 230,000 on the clock?!?!?!

I would've given them $2,500.00 for it,but no one was around to talk to,It might have had a bunch of new stuff in it....Engine,Tranny,etc,etc, but I don't know,I never did call on it,I figured I couldn't talk them down that much!!!

This may well be true but the FJ isn't a 2 door vehicle and anything like the old K5 would be 35 grand or better in todays market.

I don't think the people buying FJ cruisers would be the least interested in a k5. Just a market/image thing. I'd have to agree someone who "might" buy an FJ would more likely buy one of the hummer brand products than a GM/Chevy branded one.

Yea I agree also,The FJ is a "Hummer" type vehicle

I own an FJ and love it....but I would still be interested in a k-5, ive always liked them definetly not a hummer...the H3 is junk IMO....they fall on their face and my FJ is just as if not more capable than the H3, and better on gas too..heheh. The H2....different story. but with so many people taking H2 and putting gigantic rims and six bagillion tv screens in them...just to have a pimpmobile. Crazy man ....crazy

I'm old school. I have a '75 blazer I'll never get rid of, but GM will never build more "like" it. If GM did build a new K5 I bet it would be more like the H series of vehicles than the "old" K-5's which were true utility vehicles. I saw that the H3 will be available next year in a pickup model....

I also owned a true hummer that had been demililiarized. Best vehicle I ever owned - even with no A/C in the south.

My '92 is up for sale down the road from me (I got rid of it for 6k to buy my SS) for around $3800 with 160k miles on it or so. Somebody bought that truck and beat the living hell out of it. I was going to buy it back until I looked at it up close. It looks like somebody drove it through a chain link fence 3 or 4 times at 80mph.

I had that truck for a decade and it was in GREAT shape when I got rid of it. Made me want to slap somebody when I saw the shape it was in.
