What Could I Get That Be A Noticable Gain For Under 320 Bucks?

ive been looking at some aftermarket MAFs and an intake manifold spacer...any ideas would be help full ...i just dont know what to get next with a 320 buck limit for right now

Easy one...get a tune or a handheld tuner. No question the most bang for the buck.

Diablo sports is probably the best tuner. I don't think wait4me makes a handheld...they just program a new computer and send it to you. (160 bucks)

The Diablo handheld is about 300ish.

 

You could get a Wait4me tune and maybe a good used intake for around the 300 area.

 

Oh...BTW, TB spacers and upgraded MAF's are worthless for you at the moment.

 

The TB spacer adds a whistle, you'll notice that...and the MAF on your truck right now is the same one used on a LS1 Camaro/Trans am You have lots of breathing room with that stocker.

Jesse can tune your existing PCM or for a little extra, can send you a tuned PCM, thus allowing you to keep your original. Check with him to see if he has PCM's for the later model trucks.

wait4me also sells the excaliber2, which can be pre-loaded with 3 different tunes for your vechicle. That's what I now have and just love it!

ok so tune/handheld would be a better buy then a intake manifold spacer?.....i got a CAI on it right now by K&N and i had a TB spacer on my 2000 silverado and it did noticable gain but the fan shroud on my truck now is to close to the elbow coming off the tb for the intake if i put that TB spacer on their the fan will hitting my CAI

MAF on an otherwise setup is a waste of $

Spacers as well

 

Go with a tuned PCM all the way, best bang for the buck in that price range by far!

I also have a tuned PCM by Jesse at wait4me and kept my original.

You have a fuel injected truck. A piece of metal that spins the air and slows it down will not improve performance on a FI vehicle.

u say it will not.....i havent had much expereince with the EFI....but thats like saying the throttle body spacer doesnt add performance....dude how do u know it doesnt add performance when ur the one not driving the truck that has one in it man....i put my word on it that that lil metal thing gave me more hp than i already had... so exaclty how does it not work?...not trying to piss anyone off here im just trying to find out why u think u know it wont work....i have a 2004 gmc sierra 1500 with 22 inch chrome rims...wasnt able to spin them with an coldair intake ....went and bout that meatl thing with chunk change and i now spin the rear tires.....explain that one to me if u will

Dyno numbers have said they don't work, I have buddies with them, and it didn't do anything for them.

 

Did you maybe clean your TB when you had it off...seen it and said...oh s**t thats dirty, should clean it while its off.

 

I can assure you, if you gained anything from a TB spacer...and you'd be one in a million....its a max of about 2 hp. If that was all that was preventing you from spinning your tires, I don't know.

 

A change in the ambient air temp outside, causing your CAI to actually pull cold air in would make a bigger difference.

Had one on my 02 5.3 before I learned here that they don't do anything. I lost some slight mpg and I think my throttle response went down. Kind of hard to measure that one tho.

 

It slows down the air flow into the motor. Which hurts performance. Plus it had a sound that annoyed me.

And as was said before the dyno showed no improved performance.
