True duals will give you more of a Corvette sound, but on a stock engine you'll loose a bunch of torque because of the reduced back pressure. On a stock engine, single in double out will be a much safer route.

Yea I have heard the same thing unless you have a programmer you will lose a lot of the bottom end power. I am going to go with a 1 in and 2 out and I will still lose some power but I plan to get a programmer ASAP.

Had true duals on 2004 Z71. Sounded great but make sure true dual exhaust is adiquitaly supported. Mine wasn't and vibration cracked the manafold flange. Not cheep to replace.

Realistically, you won't notice the benefits of true duals until you're supercharged the engine, there just isn't that much air running through it stock and a fat single is more than enough. Plus you can flat out double the material costs for the exhaust.

3 inch single is all u need. now if ur going for sound get true duals with an X pipe with 2.25 inch piping. actually the x pipe might hurt the sound, but will help ur midrange and top end.

if ur going for performance, get lts ory with a single 3 inch catback..

I agree with the above. If you're sure you don't want true duals, just get a single 3" fat pipe. It will sound deeper (because of the larger pipe) and usually won't cost you low-end power like a y-pipe can. Really, the only reason I would get a y-pipe system is for the looks.
