I'm wanting to remove the Onstar unit from my 03 Yukon. I won't be renewing Onstar anymore and won't be upgrading it to the new digital version. I heard that having Onstar will drain power from the battery when the power is off to the car. I was wondering if it's possible to remove the Onstar unit without affecting anything else and if so, where the Onstar unit is located in 03 Yukon. Thank you.

I've never had any battery issues with mine and its a 2001.. I'd just leave it alone for when you get ready to sell it..

Your Yukon won't let the battery drain much if the power is off. After a certain number of hours/days your truck will shut OnStar off anyway to conserve battery power.

 

Just leave it in and forget about it. If you sell it down the road the next person may like it.

Underhood Fuse Block

 

 

The underhood fuse block in the engine compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle near the battery. Lift the cover for access to the fuse/relay block.

 

To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
