I've been debating to move up into a NBS 07/08 Sierra 1500, but I haven't been able to "pull the trigger" yet. My 06 Sierra has only 5,677 miles on it, and it is a fully-loaded SLE-2 truck.

Anyways, you guys have had your trucks for awhile now. Do us a favor, and actually "rate" your pickup. Any likes/dislikes, any noises that drive you crazy, any opinions on the active fuel management system, anything !! I see tons of threads about the Tire Monitor system as a true annoyance, etc... and alot of posts on oil leaks also.

I'm just trying to get a general "feel" for the truck, even though I own a 06 model.

Also, what would be a better choice...a new 2007 or a new 2008 ??

I've had my truck since Feb. and it's been a pleasure. I've got a Silverado Vortec Max crew cab Z-71. I have over 15,000 miles on it and I still look forward to driving it. I pull a large camper and it performs really well. NO COMPLAINTS!!! No issues on AFM or tire monitor. The interior is laid out nicely and the outside styling is the best looking on the road. Again...this truck is a pleasure to drive.

I've had mine since March,Getting ready to turn 8,000 miles....Love it!!

The 6-liter pulls like a freight train, especially when you "roll-into-it" when accelerating, then you don't really notice the torque management.

Both the AFM and tire pressure sensor system have been trouble free for me,I like the AFM,It helps with gas mileage for sure.

And as far as the tire pressure sensors I have my own tool to reset them when I rotate tires.

Also so far no oil leaks, but I'm keeping an eye open for'em.

I have a 2007 New Body style truck. If I could trade it for a similary equipped '06 or '07 Classic with the same mileage I would do it in a HEARTBEAT as chevy says. Probably just me tho. Since buying it it's been in the shop about 1/4 of the time (literally), so much that I could no longer use it as my work truck for which it was bought and my employeer took over the truck even tho I still have use of it mainly because we have no other use for it - and bought another new truck a 2008 model of a different brand just so I could keep working....Probably just me tho.

Best riding and driving truck I have ever owned... and I've always loved the way my GM trucks drove. This one is a large improvement. Quiet as a car on the highway.

Yes, some NBS have oil leak, but dealer will fix that for free, muffler rattle a bit ( I didn't fix that yet - I kinda like the rattling noise  ), If you have the mula go get one and enjoy it is indeed a Nice Truck - Last week I drove on Ice with 4x4 engage amazing

Great truck! Sierra is the best looking of the bunch in this round, by far. What ever you do, don't trade your current truck!!!!!! Sell it yourself!!! That is hidden gem you have there. No miles, lots of toys. Don't let the dealer rip you off on a trade.

Wow...here is something I was looking for.

You say it's been in the shop...what are your actual complaints??

7500 miles, love the way it rides, dealer fixed oil leak, love the auto 4x4(electronic ). Quiet non rattle interior.I like the crew cab design for the back seat room. Drive one and decide for yourself.

2008 GMC 4x4 Regular Cab Long Bed Work Truck.

My old truck: 1990 Chevrolet 1500 4.3 Manual Transmission Regular Cab Long Bed Scottsdale model.

I have nothing but praise for the new 2008 truck.

I ordered and got exactly what I wanted.

Dislikes:

1. Minor oil leak, which is fixed 100%, no biggie.

2. Throttle response due to GM's TM and Abuse Mode. Edge took care of most of that. Drives awesome now.

Everything else.

NO regrets here. With that said, you have a nice truck, keep it!!!

I agree with ya, you have an 06 with low miles, so you don't drive it much, keep the 06. And yeah I love my 07.

2008 Z71 Crew Cab with 1000 miles w/ 6" fabtech lift and 33x12.50x20's Toyo MT

I have owned my truck for about a month now and like it pretty well other than a few things.

I traded a 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi w/38K miles w/275/60/20 Toyo Open Country AT

1. I have the 5.3 engine and it feels pretty underpowered compared to the Hemi. Gas mileage so far has been about the same.

Im a little disappointed as I have had plenty of GM Trucks to compare to and there isnt really that much that separates them in Mileage.

2. Chevy could have done a better job with Storage space, the dodge had a nice storage area under the rear seat and also the front console and under seat console were better in Dodge.

3. The Ebony Cloth seat fabric attracts lint in a major way.

4. Lack of 5 or 6spd Automatic Transmission...(no excuse from GM on this one)

Plus's for the Chevy ++++++++

1. Fantastic Ride even with the Lift kit/Mud Tires

2. Very quiet inside/ no wind noise unlike the Dodge.

3. Very nice looks/inside and out.

4. Seats are very comfortable

5. Hopefully as reliable as all my past chevy's have been.

will I buy another one ? depends if they want to put in a Modern Transmission and better interior pieces.

overall its a very nice truck..but Im not sure its that superior over the other trucks out there...other than maybe the Ford :-)
