2002 silverado, Steel supply line between tank and filter leaking, nylon line and QD's ok. GM will only sell me the entire line from the motor back, anyone know if this line is sold aftermarket ready to install? or am I going to have to make my own? If so any good advice to save some headaches? Thank You!

If your problem is not rust... repair it. If you can see where it is leaking, you can cut it and install a union in the metal line. It will hold the pressure - no problem. I've seen it done successfully on metal fuel supply lines and brake lines many times.

If you feel you need to replace the whole line, it could be replicated by any shop that makes custom metal brake lines as long as the fittings you need are available. Not too sure you will save money going that route though. I guess it depends how much the General wants for a new one.

You can buy about a foot of line with the fittings from just about any parts store in the "Help" brand section. It would only work if you had the leak within a foot of the fuel filter of course. I had to buy a $5 pipe cutter so I could trim it to length.

yeah the parts for the fuel lines only being sold as one peice like that is pretty crappy. i would at a dealer and i run into that kind of thing all the time. the best way to fix it is to replace the line and flare it with new fittings from a local auto parts store and bend it yourself. the lines are very cheap and the fittings are also very cheap. if you only want to replace the problem area make sure you use union fittings and not the crappy quick fix compression fittings because those will leak and come apart very easly.
