Computer Controlled Starter On Nbs

I wonder how many of you know that the starter is "automatic" on NBS trucks with remote start. All you have to do is turn the key to the start position and release. The engine will crank automatically until it fires and disengage the starter. And I'll betcha it's easier on the starter over the long term than relying on your hearing and reaction time.

I leave the owners manual in the john for the first few months. Makes for good reading.

They pioneered that on the Cadillacs and since it works fairly well, other gm brands are getting it too, but yes very nice little thing. Maybe they can put lights in the footwells, put 10 coats of paint, 5 coats of clearcoat on each vehicle, and put an interior in every model that would rival expensive foriegn vehicles (wishful thinking) but GM is on its way back to the former glory of the old days. Just test drive the new CTS for a weekend, that baby rocks better than the last 20 years of Cadillacs that GM has put out.

Since the need for control of the startup process has been removed from the discretion of the driver, it would make sense that the driver would need only to have that new smart 2-way remote fob in the pocket and have a start/stop button on the dash like Beemers or Benzs.

MAN... I can't WAIT for the day that all of this "helpful" needless stuff decides to bite the dust. I'm sure it won't be EXPENSIVE or anything to repair.
