I heard about that on the news today, Some sort of faulty crank shaft sensor that causes them to stall and already caused 14 accidents. I think its for years 97-03 according to the news

I wonder why it took so long for them to notice something was wrong. That haven't made that engine is years.

Since they're already aware of 14 accidents I don't think it's something they just noticed. I think the problem is Ford has been going through some really rough times and they were hoping the problem wouldn't result in a recall. Sound reasonable?

my work has a f 450 and that thing has made me so mad cause I have been stranded in it a coupe of times! I think that it is an 04. We had to replace the turbo and than something happened with the EGR and it was blowing white smoke bombs out the tail pipe! Yeah they had to tear down the engine supposedly the EGR tube runs through the engine.

As many of those that I myself have replaced I can't imagine that very many of those trucks are still running on the original unit anyways. This is old news for Ford owners.

GM also just announced a crank position sensor issue TSB/recall for certain year

full sizers with the 8.1.

 

Many failures on thse CPS pieces on thse forums...............

Ford and GM must buy them from the same 3rd world sweat shop mfr. !!!!!!!!!!!!
