Tachometer

AutoMeter (including AutoGage) and Stewart Warner make quality tachometers. If you want something a little cheaper, Sunpro is pretty decent too.

Is the truck diesel? If it isn't, any tach that's compatible with 8-cyl. engines should work. Just make sure you get a gauge with a useful range. Most tachs have a 0-8,000rpm range, which will work, but all you really need is 0-5,000rpm. Don't buy something like this where it basically only shows 6,000-11,000rpm.
