hey guys!

for a christmas gift from myself to myself i was thinking of getin a nice exhaust system but not to nice. ($$$)

my budget is around 500$ and want duels forsure.

im looking for a Loud and aggressive tone on start up, threw first and second gear. But start to quiet down after thrid.. I guess this is what yall experts call drone noise? loud noise at high speed?

In the past I had the flowmaster 40 sires on my 1992 ford f-150 5.0l truck...

wasent to impressed. but then again the truck was a POS.

Anyone got any suggestions on the exhaust system i should go with?

my truck- gmt900 Sierra crew cab 2wd, 4.8l v8 vortec.

THANKS FOR THE HELP ONCE AGAIN.

Your best bet is to find a local exhaust shop and get an estimate from them. Magnaflow is a good choice. Sounds good and cheap. But with any exhaust system (except for stock/corsa), drone is a reality. How bad is depending on how loud the exhaust is and how sensitive you are to drone. Some folks just don't notice or care about drone.

Otherwise, do a search, you'll find tons of info on exhaust opinions (useless), as well as exhaust clips and pictures (useful).

how does magnaflow compair to glass packs or flowmasters?

Magnaflow is constructed of stainless steel, will outlast all, and its quiet with a deep rumble and a straight flow through design.

Flowmaster is constructed of chambers/baffles and made of aluminum ( may rust out in a few years, but if you like changing your exhaust alot who cares ) and they are louder and much more aggressive sounding.

Glasspacks are cheap, loud & noisey, restrictive to power, and dont sound as good as a muffler. But Dynomax's glasspacks are pretty decent.

FlowMasters are made of "aluminized" steel, not aluminum. That's whey they rot out.

I just put a flowmaster american thunder series super 40 dual kit on my truck.. found a deal on stylin concepts i couldnt resist... Payed $320 after everything... installed it myself, very easy to do in my driveway with my truck up on some ramps... sounds excellent! will be getting a vid soon.

With true duals you will lose low end, but gain at the top.

I myelf got a single 3" catback with a aftermarket straight thru muffler, and it sounds great but also at the same time felt a good difference. Make sure its a mandrel bent system if your gonna go with a custom exhaust.

thanks guys for the suggestions. its givin me a better idea quality wies of what I'm lookin for.to sum this thread up,magnaflow is made of better quality.flowmaster more aggressive sound. cheaper but lifespan short.corsa, best of the best.In comparison, wich has the over best HP gain and MPG gain?flows or magnas? thnks

:dunno: Neither, you lose a little low end with any aftermarket system and putting your foot in it all the time to hear it roar sucks back the fuel.:lol::lol:
